    BEST HIKING BOOTS EVER

I went to the Roan Highlands in NC last month with my Merrell Blaze Aeros which are great water hiking shoes but failed at rocky mountain hikes because my ankles were rolling and twisting like crazy so I knew I needed more support. I got some Columbias but they were stiff and just didnt feel right. These Merrels matched the color and style of my Blaze so I took the plunge and got them. I literally could not shut up about these boots the entire hike. As you can see, my boyfriend was wearing sneakers and I had to walk ahead of him to let him know when something was muddy or wet, he was not a happy camper (literally) and I will be getting him some Merrells for our next hike. I did 2 days and about 15 miles on the Blue Ridge mountains, completed the Sam Knob mountain and Flat Laurel creek trails so these boots saw it all. This trail had lots of mud, rocks, climbs, and water. These boots took it all like a champ including fully submerging them in mud and creeks and they stayed completely dry and look brand new, I was absolutely blown away. The inserts are a bit too thin and tough for my taste so I replaced them with some Vomii memory foam insoles and it was the bees knees. The support is there, the grip is there, the style is there and they are comfy right out of the box. By the end of the hike my ankle did hurt a little but that’s normal when breaking in new boots, especially when hiking such uneven and rocky terrain. I normally wear a 9-9.5 but I listened to the reviews and got a 10 and I’m glad I did because anything smaller would have been tight especially around the toe box especially because I wear them with thick Darn Tough socks. I love these boots so much I couldn’t stop raving about them and said the first thing I would do when I got back home was write a review on them. Thank you Merrell for making the best hiking boots ever and best of all, they cost way less than the Salewas I was going to get.

Carried me to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro

I am so happy I got these boots for my hike up Mt. Kili. I tried on at least 20 pairs of hiking boots from Merrell and other brands before I settled on this one. Its sole is the softest among all the boots (that’s my personal preference) and still has strong support around sole and ankles. And the fit is the best. They hardly need break in. After 7 days on Kili hiking 8-10 hours a day, I successfully summited and came down – no pain, no ankle injury, no blisters, thanks to these boots.Ps I ordered half a size up because my feet swell after long hikes. The shoes are indeed water proof – walked in slushy ice in the crater of Mt Kilimanjaro for 3 hours and my feet were still dry.

    PERFECT – DEFINITELY RECOMMEND

Story time. My friend and I have been planing for a 6 mile hiking trip. When I got these shoes I decided to break them in with a 4 mile walk. They did not need breaking in. They were very comfortable and supported my arches. No friction, and they had enough space for my feet to swell. Now for the hike. These boots saved me multiple times. At one point we were on rocks that were wet and slippery. I lost traction on some slime for a second but the shoes found grip immediately. There was also a point where my foot found uneven ground. Had I been wearing regular shoes my ankle definitely would have twisted, but these supported my ankle for that very reason. These shoes took me to some amazing views. They are comfortable, great for long distance, AND VEGAN! I can’t wait for my next hike with them ☺️

Great hiking boot — definitely recommend!

Based on reviews, I ordered a half size bigger than my usual size, and they fit perfectly with no break-in period necessary. They are comfortable with good support, quiet on all surfaces, and the heel design makes them VERY easy to walk in, with a kind of rocking motion. I have to “hike” in and out of work about a quarter mile each way through very messy, icy, wet parking lots in the winter. These boots keep my feet warm and dry and do a super job!

    Great boot, comfortable but tough!

I highly recommend these boots. As a former Search and Rescue volunteer with thousands of boot miles in my past, I know what I like and what works for me: supportive but flexible with a tough sole and toe kick and plenty of toe box room. They also need to accommodate my orthotics/inserts. These boots fit the bill beautifully. I doubt I’ll switch!
